Another one layer card

The challenge at Our Daily Bread Designs (ODBDSLC207) this week is to make a one layer card. You can see my original post with two of my cards here. I made a third card for this challenge which you can see below :-)

Elizabeth Whisson, Our Daily Bread Designs, Bee Happy, Honeycomb mini, kraft, handmade card

To make my card I first stamped Our Daily Bread Designs Honeycomb mini over the front of my kraft cardstock card using white gesso and waited for it to dry (the one where I was going to stamp the words I "smudged" a bit with some dry paper towel so the words would be easier to read). I then stamped the bee hive and bee from the Our Daily Bread Designs Bee Happy stamp set in Memento Rich cocoa over the top of the gesso. The bee I embossed with clear EP. These have both been coloured with Prismacolor pencils.
The sentiment is from the same set (ODBD Bee Happy) but stamped with Memento Tuxedo Black and has clear EP added. I've then done some doodling around the edges using a 0.3 mm Staedtler triplus fineliner.

  1. Oh, Elizabeth, I really like this masculine one (at least it has a more masculine feel to me - smile!). Great techniques! One-layer cards are fun to make, aren't they? Hugs, sweet friend!

  2. I love both of your one layer cards, as well as the embellished one you posted today, beautiful!!

  3. Really cool how you used the gesso Elizabeth! The stitching adds a nice touch too! Hope your brother in law is getting better!

Comments are greatly appreciated and I cherish each and every one of them! Thanks for stopping by!
