Mother's Day is not too far away and there are a few challenges out there with this theme. I have entered my card in:

Black and White

The challenge over at Annabelle Stamps Blog this fortnight is to use the colours Licorice and White (AC160). I don't use black very much on my cards (nor white really) so thought this would be a good one to have a go at.

A cousin of mine has recently got engaged so I thought this would be the perfect opportunity to make them an engagement card.

This is the colour combo:

Here is my card:

I put glossy accents all over the "Congratulations":

Added AnnaBelle Stamps sprinkles - icicle (3 mm) to my "elegant flourish" (and you can kind of see the vanilla shimmer spray on the white card):

Stamped using white pigment ink:

And stamped a small magnolia on white card for the inside of the card:

Copics: 110 (special black) - used just to touch up around the white stamping that I accidentally smudged before I could heat set it (and couldn't be bothered stamping another one!)
Stamps: Flourishes "Magnolias" and Stamp-it siset014 "Congratulations"
Ink: Memento Tuxedo Black and ColorIt - Snow White
Cardstock: Quill XL Multiboard - black and white
Dies: Sizzix Tim Holtz Alterations - Elegant Flourishes, Spellbinder Nestabilities - A2 Fancy Weave, Spellbinder Nestabilities 5x7 A and B set
Other: Fiskars rotary trimmer, Vanilla Shimmer spray (on elegant flourish and white die cut behind "Congratulations" - hard to see in photos), Inkssentials Glossy Accents, AnnaBelle Stamps Sprinkles - Icicle (3 mm), Creativ Ribbon, double sided tape, X-Press it Glue marker, Helmar acid free glue, Sizzix Big Shot and heat gun (to set the white pigment ink).

Updated Sunday, 2 June 2013
Wow - I must've been so engrossed and happy with my card I failed to see what my daughter added! Until now. I was going through my cards that I had made over the last few months (one's I still have anyway) and what a surprise when I looked at this one again! Now I can see her beautiful, tiny little addition to the "Wee Florist's" eyes! Children are a delight, but can also be little rascals at times! :-)

Bookmarks

Also tried a couple of new techniques and have made some bookmarks over the last few months.

7 Cards

I haven't been posting too regularly ... but I have been making some cards. Just didn't get time to upload them. Here is a few I've been making in the last few weeks.
