True Meaning of Christmas

I feel saddened when I walk around the shops and see Santa Claus everywhere. Sure, it may be nice for the kids to have a bit of fun but the true meaning of Christmas is usually no where to be found. What is Christmas all about?.... JESUS! God sent His one and only Son to be born, grow up (living a sinless life on earth), and to die on the cross for our sins. If we acknowledge that we are sinners and believe that Jesus died on the cross for our sins (1 John 1:9), we can ask Him to come into our hearts and forgive us. We are then made whole and we know that we will go to heaven (once our life on earth is over) to live eternally with God.

"For God so loved the world that He gave His one and only Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal life." John 3:16

Jesus is the reason for the season!

Below is a Christmas card that I made that has the verse Matthew 1:21 "She will give birth to a son, and you are to give Him the name Jesus; for He shall save His people from their sins", another verse that points to the true meaning of Christmas.

Here is my card:

  1. You are so right, Alshandra. The world commercializes Christmas SO much, and I think people have forgotten to stop and truly think about the real meaning of Christmas. We have a corrupt government, people everywhere who are sad and confused, when all they need is Jesus Christ and a relationship with Him. This card is just darling - I LOVE that sweet little image. Thanks for taking us all back to what Christmas is all about I look forward to having you join our challenges again soon.

  2. Alishandra, truer words were never spoken. He shall save His people from their sins. Oh what a gift He gave us. I heard real Christmas carols today in two stores, stores you would not expect to hear any Christian music ever. It looks like a holy boldness is coming of many people. Your card is adorable. In this case a picture is worth a thousand words.
Thank you for posting with us at WAW.
